Activities Representative / Water Sports Instructor

We are seeking an Activities Representative to join our team, delivering exceptional experiences for our holiday guests and property owners. In this role you will develop, facilitate and deliver a range of outdoor activities, ensuring safety is at the heart of all practices. You will provide excellent customer service while assisting guests and homeowners with equipment hire. Our ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for outdoor activities that will inspire others.

Experience and a passion in water sports is essential (further training can be provided where necessary). Basic knowledge of cycle maintenance is not essential, but would be advantageous.

Location Silverlake - Dorset
Reporting to Operations Manager
Salary From £22,750 FTE - Equivalent to minimum of £12.50 per hour
Hours Fixed term contract (March to September) with the possibility for this to become a permanent position
Full time as per rota (with the possibility of part time for the right person) to include weekends

Key Responsibilities

Rental Assistant and Customer Care:

  • Answering enquiries from guests about appropriate equipment for them.
  • Issuing hire bikes and water sports equipment to guests, ensuring that customers are given diligent safety briefings before their hire period.
  • Providing assistance in the upkeep of a fleet of hire bikes.
  • Ensuring that all equipment is safe and clean after use and that all assets are safely secured at the end of the day.
  • Carrying out regular safety checks on the water sports equipment and bikes.
  • Taking bookings both online and over the phone for sessions and rentals.
  • Ad-hoc duties as required for the department.

Activity Instructor:

  • Delivering Coracle/Paddleboard lessons in a fun and safe manner to family groups on our Lakes.
  • Delivering children’s water sports sessions.
  • Proving first aid care to guests with minor injuries.
  • Taking the responsibility of ensuring the emergency action plan is carried out in a calm and proficient manner should a serious incident arise.
  • Working alongside the operations manager and activity hub team to develop new and exciting activities (this is where any extra qualifications and experience you have can be utilised).
