Grounds Team Member

Tasks will vary on a daily basis and will include:

• Weeding, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, edging, pruning, bed preparation, planting, hedge-cutting, cross-cutting, and felling of small tree, using hand tools and basic light machinery such as mowers, strimmers, hedge-cutters, chainsaws, and leaf blowers
• The use of the estate vehicles including RTV and ATV’s and inspect these on a weekly and monthly basis to ensure that all are operationally sound and maintained in accordance with the maintenance schedule and inspection sheets
• To be aware of Health and Safety procedures and requirements, noting that all duties must be carried out to comply with current Health and Safety at Work legislation
• Ensure all equipment, machinery, offices and buildings kept clean safely an secure  reporting any defects or repairs required to the Estate Manager
• Monitor and report any security risks posed within the estate including defects or Health and Safety concerns, no matter what its nature to the Estate Manager and in their absence, the Duty Manager
• Apply chemicals where appropriate under direction from the Head Groundsperson or relevantly trained operative
• Keep the courtyards, planted areas, thoroughfares, footpaths, Estate tracks, and any other areas of the Estate clear and free from litter at all times
• Carry out gritting, salt spreading, and snow clearing, as necessary, including footpaths throughout the village
• work in line with the Ecology plan as laid out by Habitat First Group and Ecologist
• Carry out general maintenance across the villages, ensuring that all Health and Safety implications are checked and assessed
